When to visit

Campers Haven welcomes guests from mid-May through mid-October. If you are crossing on the ferry from Maine, build a buffer day on each side of sailing weather. July and August bring the warmest lake days at Lake Trefry, while late May, June, and September often feel quieter on the roads around Yarmouth.

Weather and packing

Coastal Nova Scotia can shift from sun to fog in one afternoon. Pack layers, a wind shell, and a dry bag for phones. Sturdy shoes help on gravel roads and short walks to the waterfront. Even in summer, a light sweater for evening by the water is a smart move.

Reservations and site choice

Long weekends and holiday weeks fill quickly. Send dates, unit length, and hookup needs when you email the office. Review campsite types before you write so you can name the category you want, from tenting loops to 50 amp pull-throughs.
